My Humorous Monologue

I have learned so much from my comedy joke project! I learned to keep trying, even if some things were distracting (which they were). I learned how to write a good joke. I learned what b-roll is (added visuals shown while there is speaking in another clip). I had to be responsible in this project because I had to sign out a camera to film my b-roll and I must take care of that camera. I also had to return the camera the next morning, at least in the shape I got the camera. This project helped me to understand time management, because of the deadline.

Their is something in filming called padding. This is a strategy you use for filming. You say rolling when you hit the record button, wait 3 seconds, then say action. That is the beginning part of padding. In the end, you say cut, then count to 3 in your head, then stop recording. This strategy is very useful because it usually take 3 seconds for the camera to actually start and stop recording. You need to use it so that some of your video is not cut off. You can always cut the "action" and "cut" parts. That is padding and why it is useful.

My weakness in this project was the special effects. Every time I added transitions, my visuals went all over the place. At one point, I had to start editing all over again! I think editing was somehow also my strength (not the special effects included). I was one of the first people to put in my visuals. Although it was tough, I handled it well. I could improve by figuring out how to organize better. My visuals at first were all in the wrong spots. I should have organized them better and it would have been easier. That was my weakness, strength, and my ways to improve on this project.
THESE ARE MY GRADES  (The majority gave me a 3)
